That's Entertaiiiinment

I don't get it. We have a football game. People obsess over it for months. Who will win, who will lose, who will be the ultimate 2. We have people working for weeks on the perfect party, the perfect tailgate. Then they skip church, skip family, skip everything to turn their eyes to the screen.

THE GAME IS ON!

What's the next attraction? The commercials. I kid you not, I will hear about these commercials for weeks on end. They will go viral. An ad for a product you probably don't even want and definitely don't need will be the hot topic at work, at family gatherings, and online.

But, worst of all is the half time show. This year it was a performer called Lady Gaga. UGH! If you haven't heard her lyrics, I wouldn't suggest it. The language in most of her songs is atrocious and forget innuendo, she just comes right out and says it, point blank, in horrible ways. This is who our NFL leaders decided would be a good representation of athletic ability. Children were exposed to this spectacle. I am watching people who claim to be Christians touting how awesome her performance was and, following it up with, "well, she wears more than Beyonce" (like that's a compliment and a reason to watch her).

Where do we draw the line? Nothing is pure anymore, clean anymore. It's all about sex, innuendo, foul language, and worse. And people wonder why we shut off cable and don't get things like Netflix and Hulu. Don't be fooled. Don't be sucked in. Remember this passage and stand strong my friends.

Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things. Philippians 4:8
